Employment at Brooke Bird.

For those keen to work in the specialised field of Insolvency, Brooke Bird. offers a variety of employment opportunities including work experience, Industry Based Learning and Graduate positions.

Work Experience

Work experience is typically offered for senior Secondary School students giving students an insight into the work expected in a Chartered Accounting firm and office environment. As such, students are given a range of tasks to complete. These tasks are done under the guidance and close supervision from other staff members.

Industry Based Learning

Industry Based Learning is offered to business students in their penultimate year of their course. These positions are advertised through university career units. It is a twelve month position generally from July to June. This offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the specialised field of Insolvency whilst dealing with a wide range of people and industries.

These positions offer a good spread of business issues with a variety of challenges resulting from the many different industries that Brooke Bird deals with. The position is very rewarding as it allows you to constantly be dealing with new challenges that vary from day to day and job to job.

These positions report directly to the Partners and Managers and allow for constant interaction with all other staff.

Graduate Positions

Graduate positions are initially similar to Industry Based Learning positions. As you develop, you will be able to delegate work to junior staff members and will also be given the responsibility to manage jobs from start to finish. You are supported with all assignments by a Manager and a Partner. As a Graduate you play a very important role as part of the team and are relied upon to talk to Company Directors, employees and creditors; manage assignments and work with other team members to complete jobs.

Brooke Bird offers a variety of Professional Development tools to ensure that you are kept up-to-date with technical and practical information. This is done through in-house training sessions, attendance at various seminars run by other professionals such as Accountants and Lawyers and also circulated written material.

Of course constant interaction with Brooke Bird and Partners provides an excellent environment for continual on-the-job training, which is considered probably the most important method of learning and excelling in your career.

You are encouraged and supported to complete either the Chartered Accounting Program or the Certified Practising Accountant Program to achieve a professional Accountant status to progress your career development.

Anyone interested in forwarding their Curriculum Vitae should contact the partners of the practice directly.
