Robyn Erskine

Robyn has been a Partner at Brooke Bird for over 28 years and has been actively involved in the insolvency industry over the last 30 years. She has been engaged to undertake a wide range of assignments both formal and informal in many and diverse industry segments

She has undertaken specific investigations into insolvent trading, unfair preferences and uncommercial transactions and has prepared specialist reports for various stakeholders including financiers and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission

With such a depth of experience, Robyn is a strong advocate of early intervention and assisting parties in understanding all of the options available to individuals and businesses in financial distress. This hands-on approach increases the chances of a successful outcome.

Through being actively involved in the insolvency profession, she has been able to work within many industries including, among others:

Robyn regularly speaks to professional associations and groups about sustaining trade, preventing business failure and the ramifications of insolvency. As a widely regarded insolvency practitioner, she is a current director of ARITA National Board. Robyn was President of ARITA from June 2011 to May 2013 and past chairman of ARITA’s VIC/TAS division.

Robyn continues to actively serve the accounting profession. In October 2017 Robyn became a director of CPA Australia and is a current member of CPA Australia’s Victorian Divisional Council. In January 2015, Robyn was appointed to the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) small and medium practices committee where she represents CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Adrian Hunter

Adrian Hunter

Adrian was appointed to partnership within Brooke Bird in 2016 following a 20 year career with Deloitte, PPB Advisory and Ferrier Hodgson. He specialises in corporate reorganisation and insolvency advice

Adrian’s experience encompasses a diverse range of services working with key stakeholders (be they secured lenders, directors, their solicitors and accountants) which typically focus on internal controls, management competency, performance, short to medium term viability and asset divestment.

Adrian has particular expertise in the following areas:

•     Management of businesses in formal insolvency including restructure and cost down programs during the sale of businesses
•     Working capital and cash flow management and associated optimisation strategies
•     Business restructuring and profit improvement strategy development
•     Identification and implementation of operational and process improvements.
•     Business diagnostic reviews / investigations

In addition to being heavily involved in a variety of corporate reorganisation administrations across many industries, Adrian has developed specialised skills in the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (PPSA) which came into effect from 30 January 2012.

Articles written by Adrian on the PPSA and various insolvency topics have appeared in the quarterly Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Assoc (ARITA) journal and Australian Institute of Credit Management journal.

He regularly presents at both CPA and Chartered discussion groups on a variety of insolvency and related topics and is a lead trainer/presenter on behalf of ARITA.
